With an overhead installation, the lifting mechanism is secured to the shaft walls at the top, if the load-bearing capacity of the walls allows, or to the shaft ceiling. If necessary, a metal structure can be fabricated and installed to distribute the load across all shaft walls. With a bottom installation, the mechanism is mounted in a pit or outside the shaft. The overall dimensions of the cargo platforms, the location of the lifting mechanisms (top or bottom), and the number of intermediate stops are agreed upon when placing the order. The shaft hoist is equipped with safety devices, which consist of two safety cables, expansion springs, and wedge blocks. If the main cable weakens or breaks, the springs act on the blocks, which in turn wedge the safety cables. As a result, the cabin does not fall, but hangs from two emergency cables. |
